“usuario no encontrado” is about the way Gen Z canalizes and romanticizes negative emotions.
It’s a portrait of young people, who tend to transform being in a bad mood into a cliché and something aesthetic, to the point of making a trend out of it. This is a result of the ego and the lack of communication and emotional management that we experience every day.
In this project I wanted to analyze this and show that I, as well as other people of my generation, are unconsciously victims and participants of this phenomenon, and so I chose to bring this topic to reflection through exaggeration, irony and criticism.
To make this fashion collection I took as reference the communicative tool that is the meme and, in the same way memes can convey complex messages through simple and day-to-day items, I tried to translate this same action into the language of fashion.
Because of that, the aesthetic of this collection revolves around conventional and simple clothing elements, such as the use of lining or screen-printed advertising shirts.
Lastly, I would like to highlight the aim to produce this collection in the most environmentally friendly way, through the use of recycled fabrics and upcycling.
