The Road To Hell
Visual odyssey that draws inspiration from the saying “the road to hell is paved with good intentions”, suggesting that well-meaning actions can lead to unintended consequences. It serves as an ode to the new generation of emerging artists and creatives in the Colombian fashion field who often sacrifice their hearts and souls in pursuit of recognition and success, without guarantees of fair reward.
The intricate and dense truths of the industry are acknowledged, likened to taking a bite of an apple and realizing wrinkles formed while waiting for the perfect scenario. These are elements that are present but often ignored to make the individual journey more bearable. Stepping out of the comfort zone or letting go of irrational fixations (those created behind false promises and chimeras) can be initially terrifying, akin to being in constant blur or seeing a negative object that doesn’t fit immediately, but upon closer inspection, the puzzle is completed.
Despite the challenges they face, these artists blend traditional culture with contemporary trends, showcasing their creativity and adaptability amidst Colombia’s natural landscapes. The series captures moments of uncertainty and questioning, where individuals find themselves wondering how they ended up where they are.
Yet, through these experiences, the space becomes a reminder of past struggles and growth, prompting reconciliation with past selves and embracing change with courage and faith.
