Back in 2019, Karl Yazigi created his first jewelry pieces at his uncle’s Atelier in Beirut. And just like that, in the most organic way, Garçon de Famille was created. With the aim of blurring the lines between design and fashion, the Milan-based label brings together a creative community that celebrates genderless, bold aesthetics. 

Coming from a long line of Lebanese jewelers, Karl's family provided decisive inspiration in his creative development. This fact, together with being trained in interior design, led him to create atypical designs that draw influences from the underground fashion scene in Milan.

Since its beginnings, Garçon de Famille has grown organically by word-of-mouth from his community in Milan to the rest of Europe and beyond.

Their flagship collection ‘Arachne’ was inspired by Karl's interest in spiders. In their own words, “transmuting their markedly complex anatomy into a jewelry piece was a rewarding challenge.” Not only the forms, also the movements and the transformations of a spider were inspiration for the creation of the pieces: for their model DEA01, they imitated the spiders’ legs curl inward, a form they acquire at death. 

The way the earring is worn is, in line with the rest, metaphorical. The fact is that “the ear cuff slides on from the thinnest, upper part of the ear to sit on the thickest, lower part of the ear just like a crawling spider that finds her place to rest.”

After that, the spider undergoes a metamorphosis with respect to the initial design, and the DEA02 model is created. This piece preserves the “robust material quality of DEA01 while offering color options for the stone, and two metallic styles with the new gold vermeil.”
