Red September Fall/Winter 2023/24 “Vacuum”
APRIL 6, 2023 → WORDS ADRIÁN GOMIS EXPÓSITO
Based on the concept of a void, a space from which most or all of the matter has been removed, the independent, ironic, and bold high-street fashion brand Red September presents its Fall/Winter 2023/24 collection named “Vacuum”.
The brand, which works out as gender-fluid and creates its communication language by reimagining the cultural-symbolic code, brings a collection that reflects on the feelings of emptiness experienced by everyone in 2022. At that moment it felt like there was no oxygen, and all relationships and close ties were shattered, replacing the feeling of community with a bubble phenomenon.
Having processed these feelings, Red September asked themselves the type of clothes needed in the bubble-like situations we still live in today, bringing a really special take for their Fall/Winter 2023/24 collection. Colors are toned down favoring voluminosity for practical purposes, with hoodies and puffer jackets that make you want to wrap yourself up and wear multi-layered outfits to reflect that isolating feeling.
In 2022, the word “vacuum” was a symbol of oxygen deficit and lack of freedom. In 2023, “vacuum” references the removal of those preconceptions to highlight the spirit of a society that dreams about collaboration and integration and being part of the same world.
