Lynn La Yaung AW22:
The beginning of the end
Lynn La Yaung is a knitwear designer with a complicated history. Raised in Yangon, Burma and moved to London during his adolescence, where he pursued a place of belonging.
After refining his skills in the fashion houses of Paris, Yaung’s mastery of delicate embroidery caught the eye of Bottega Veneta and, with their scholarship, he has spent the last year working on audacious pieces that blend the sensitive tones of Georgia O’Keefe’s watercolours with daring silhouettes inspired by queer rave-wear translated into texturised knitted pieces. His work is a beautiful confliction of bold silhouettes, ombré knits and fine embroidery.
AW22 is a complete extension of the original collection shown at the Central Saint Martins BA Fashion Graduate show. This collection is a refinement of the original one and a true connection to Yaung’s own silhouettes, embodying personified elements of his past & present, with a blink to his future as a fashion designer.
