Louis Vuitton Fall Winter 2021
MARCH 10, 2021
WORDS JESÚS S FERRERA
Nicolas Ghesquière presented today the Louis Vuitton Fall Winter 2021, bringing to a close this unprecedented -at least until recently- Paris Fashion Week, which has been almost entirely digital.
It was the finishing touch for a fashion month that has been extraordinary in its form, but also in its unbridled creativity in every sense of the word.
The show took place at the Louvre’s Denon wing and the models walked among sculptures from the classical world to the beat of Daft Punk’s hit “Around the World.”
Most notable was the unveiling of the collaboration with the artistic design atelier Fornasseti. Bags and garments presented their characteristic women’s faces stamped. But not only is that remarkable, also the jewelry encrusted tunics, color-blocked parkas and bombers, and dresses. All of them full of graphic motifs.
The looks were mostly completed with wedge-heel boots and movement was the focus of the collection: blouson jackets, cocooning capes and voluminous skirts presented in different fabrics.
Definitely, it was a collection for the future, for reality -as many designers have done this season-. That’s what we are all now waiting for, and this desire is patent in everything: from art and fashion to conversations.
And as we have said, that was a grand finale to this fashion month which probably, lacking the spectacular live performance, has had to surpass its standards to be remembered forever. And yes, one way or the other, we believe it will be hard to forget.
