What is THAT Post-Travel Feeling?!
“Why I felt so weird coming back from my wonderful vacation? What is THAT uncontrollable feeling? I felt trapped, I felt sad, I couldn’t focus on work, I was stressed about my project, I lost appetite, I lost motivation. I barely feel sad and never got depressed, but this time...”
The Drop—a sudden freefall into emptiness.
The Overwhelming Void—a state of entanglement, suffocation, and imbalance.
Healing & Rebirth—the slow, uneasy return to stability.
Post-travel depression is an inevitable crash—a sudden drop from the highs of exploration into the stark stillness of routine. The mind lingers elsewhere, caught between memory and reality, while the body struggles to recalibrate.
Hometown Sense: A Sensory Exploration of Nostalgia
Hometown Sense is a visual and tactile dialogue between memory and sensation, capturing the essence of nostalgia through fashion and photography. Inspired by the cherished street foods of Hunan Province, the project transforms sensory experiences into sculptural garments, where texture and form echo the emotions tied to taste and longing.
Voluminous silhouettes and intricate fabric manipulations embody the tension between craving and satisfaction, while a palette of pinks and reds evokes the warmth and intensity of memory. The surreal setting—drifting balloons and a hazy pink glow—amplifies the dreamlike nature of recollection, where the past lingers just beyond reach.
Through fabric, light, and composition, Hometown Sense becomes more than an editorial; it is an intimate exploration of the way nostalgia shapes the senses, translating ephemeral moments into something tangible and timeless.
