At the centre of the story is the UNEEK, KEEN’s open-air icon, which marked its 10th anniversary in 2024. Built to challenge the usual rules of footwear construction, the design replaces a traditional layered upper with two intersecting cords that move with the foot, adapting to its shape rather than forcing it into a fixed form. When it launched in 2014, no factory wanted to make it. A decade later, it remains one of the most recognisable silhouettes in KEEN’s line-up, and it still looks like nothing else out there.

In this shoot, the UNEEK appears in two iterations that highlight its versatility: the Lily Pad/Peach Fuzz version embraces a fresh, outdoor energy with its soft green tones, while the LEA (leather) Pale Lilac/Plaza Taupe edition takes a more refined path, crafted in premium leather for an understated, tactile finish. Together, they show how a functional design can shift effortlessly between worlds, from natural landscapes to contemporary city scenes.
