Highway To Heartbreak

Can a love story between man and car ever really end in ‘happily ever after’?

Together with photographer Nicolás Cuenca, Berlin-based creative agency Kemmler Kemmler explored our complex (and often absurd) relationship with the material world, along with the humorous moments that arise when we fall in love with the things we possess.

We are hard-wired as humans to love one another. But in today’s day and age, we increasingly turn to inanimate objects to fulfil our basic human needs. We nurture, covet, and even commit ourselves to our material possessions, seeking out love in the objects around us.

Maybe formed from our own loneliness, or even developed out of modern boredom, one thing is for sure, when we become infatuated with material possessions, it’s a one-way ride on the Highway to Heartbreak.
