Abstract:
Marc Sanso’s
new collection

“The Peculiar and Distinguished Art of Sitting” is based on the exploration of linguistic relativity and its influence on the construction of reality. It stems from the idea that languages shape our understanding of the world. In this particular case, it examines concepts and situations within the queer realm that still lack a name or full comprehension, aiming to create a space for reflection. To address this theme, a collection of tailoring is proposed, involving two narrative approaches. On one hand, there are garments that impose a specific performativity based on existing words or concepts. On the other hand, the collection includes pieces that challenge and blur the gestural divisions associated with binary genders.
