Cotard

Cotard’s syndrome is a rare psychiatric condition in which the individual is firmly convinced that they are dead. Essentially, a person affected by Cotard’s syndrome no longer perceives any emotional stimuli, and their consciousness explains this phenomenon by convincing them that they are no longer alive or have lost all their internal organs. Those suffering from this condition may completely deny their existence. This conviction, defended with certainty, leads to serious difficulties in finding meaning in reality. People affected by Cotard’s syndrome gradually begin to neglect self-care or exhibit suicidal tendencies.
