The Spanish artist Pepo Moreno, who is known for the combination of sad, ugly, and gay elements in his works of art resulting in masterpieces like “This is a Gay Book” and a myriad of unique pieces with childish aesthetics bearing strong messages, collaborates with the Paris-based sex-positive brand Carne Bollente to launch a collection of stunning and incredible pieces.
With the shared passion for sexuality, sex positivity, exploration, and the celebration of queerness and sexuality in all its forms, both talents join forces to create a very playful and visionary collaboration. Through Pepo Moreno’s bright colors and characteristic techniques, the alluring designs have subtle but strong messages to showcase the inclusive reflection of modern society.
The pieces presented in this collaboration are sleeveless knits, deep blue washed jeans, t-shirts and long-sleeves, two jackets, and a towel. Every piece has Pepo Moreno’s charateristic designs and motifs, for example, a muscly half-naked man in underwear with a cowboy hat and shoes that you will find on one of the sleeves of the jeans.
Staying true to the ethics of Carne Bollente’s brand, all of the pieces are made with love in Portugal, bearing in mind animals’ well-being, and donating 1% of every online sale to a French NGO Association de AIDES in order to fight against HIV and AIDS.
